Return & Refund Policy

At Swayam Vastram, every saree is crafted with care and we want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. This Return & Refund Policy explains when and how you can return an order and receive a refund.
1. Return Window
You may raise a return request within 7 days from the date of delivery. Requests received after the 7-day window cannot be accepted.
2. Eligible Returns
We accept returns in the following cases:
- Damaged — the item arrived with visible damage in transit
- Defective — the item has a manufacturing defect
- Wrong item — you received a product different from what you ordered
3. Not Eligible for Return
The following items are not eligible for return:
- Items that have been used, worn, or had their tags removed
- Items that have been washed or dry-cleaned
- Items that have been altered, stitched, or tailored after delivery
- Items damaged due to misuse or negligent handling after delivery
Please note that minor variations in colour, weave, and pattern are natural characteristics of handloom products and are not considered defects.
4. How to Initiate a Return
To start a return, email us at support@swayamvastram.com within 7 days of delivery and include:
- Your order number (format: SV-YYYY-XXXXXX)
- Clear photos of the issue — the damage, defect, or wrong item received
- A brief description of the problem
Our team will review your request within 1–2 business days and respond with the next steps.
5. Return Shipping
For eligible claims, we arrange return shipping at no cost to you. Our team will schedule a reverse pickup through our courier partner. Please keep the item in its original packaging with all tags intact until pickup.
6. Inspection & Refund
Once the returned item reaches us, we inspect it to confirm that the reported issue matches the condition received. After successful inspection, your refund is processed within 7–10 business days.
7. Refund Methods
- Online payments (Stripe): refunded to the original payment method — card, UPI, or net banking — used at checkout.
- Cash on Delivery (COD): refunded via NEFT bank transfer. We will ask you for your account holder name, account number, and IFSC code.
Once initiated, refunds typically reflect in your account within 7–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.
