Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. The tape should be snug but not tight.
Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waistline, usually just above the navel. Keep the tape comfortably loose.
Measure from the edge of one shoulder to the other across the back. Keep the tape flat along the shoulder line.
Measure from the shoulder point down to your desired sleeve length. Standard blouse sleeves end at the mid-upper arm.
Measure from the base of the neck at the back down to your desired blouse length, typically ending at the waistline.
Always iron or steam your saree before draping to remove creases and ensure smooth pleats.
Use safety pins at key points - the pleats at the waist, the pallu on the shoulder, and the front tuck - to keep your saree secure all day.
Wear a well-fitted petticoat that sits snugly at your waist. The petticoat length should be about half an inch shorter than your saree length.
For silk sarees, lightly starch the pleats to help them hold their shape throughout the day.
Practice draping in front of a full-length mirror. Start with the non-pallu end and work your way around.
Keep the pallu length balanced - it should fall gracefully to your knee level or slightly below for an elegant look.
